Biography:
Founder, President and CEO of Cenna Biosciences Inc., a clinical stage biopharmaceutical Company in La Jolla, CA, focused on the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease. Educated at the University of London, where she earned her B.Sc. (hons) and Ph.D. degrees. Faculty in the department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Her research for over three decades has aimed to elucidate the molecular underpinnings of Alzheimer's disease and to create experimental therapies.
Cenna is advancing a patented technology that targets the production of the toxic Aß species, a key driver of disease onset and progression, with the goal of establishing a disease-modifying drug. Her work has led to the identification of novel peptide and small molecule drug candidates which are being developed at Cenna as novel, first-in- class disease-modifying drugs, the first of which has recently been granted IND by the FDA. Nazneen has served on various University committees, professional and editorial boards and NIH review committees over the last 30 years and on community projects as a volunteer. She serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Cenna.
