Biography:

Dr. Nazneen N. Dewji is a highly accomplished researcher in Alzheimer’s disease, known for her ability to explain complex scientific topics in clear, understandable terms. An Associate Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, and the founder and CEO of Cenna BioSciences Inc., Dr. Dewji has dedicated her career to developing therapeutic solutions for neurodegenerative diseases. Her research focuses on small molecule therapeutics and drug delivery methods, particularly for Alzheimer’s, which affects one in 10 people over 65, with that number rising to one in two for those over 90. Dr. Dewji has led several NIH-funded projects, including the development of pre-clinical therapeutics and innovative approaches for drug delivery to the brain. As she often emphasizes in her lectures, while there is no cure for Alzheimer’s, her research offers hope for the future. With the increasing lifespans in the U.S., Alzheimer's is projected to affect three times as many people by 2050, with the current care costs already exceeding $200 billion annually. Through her groundbreaking work, Dr. Dewji remains a passionate advocate for finding solutions to this devastating disease.
