Dementia Care, Caregiving and Quality of Life

Dementia care extends beyond medical treatment and includes physical, emotional, social and practical support for individuals and families. This session explores person-centred care, caregiver experiences, communication, daily living, long-term care, palliative support, dignity, independence and quality of life. It also considers workforce development, care coordination and the challenges faced by family and professional caregivers.

Abstract Scope and Participation

Abstracts may address home care, hospital care, residential care, caregiver burden, support programmes, communication practices, end-of-life care, social inclusion, ethical decision-making and quality improvement. Nurses, physicians, caregivers, social workers, psychologists, therapists, care managers, community organisations, researchers, educators and students may contribute research, service evaluations, case studies and innovative care models.
