Dementia includes a diverse group of conditions that affect memory, thinking, behaviour and everyday functioning. This session examines Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, mixed dementia and other neurological or medical conditions associated with cognitive deterioration. It encourages comparison of disease characteristics, underlying mechanisms, clinical presentations and approaches to management across different forms of dementia.
Submissions may cover individual dementia types, overlapping pathologies, atypical presentations, rare dementias, secondary cognitive disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and multidisciplinary approaches to assessment and care. Researchers, clinicians, neurologists, psychiatrists, geriatricians, neuropathologists, psychologists, rehabilitation professionals, nurses, care providers and students are invited to contribute research findings, clinical experiences, reviews and case-based studies.
